Connemara Coast Hotel Wedding

I've exceptionally good memories of Anna & James' wedding in the Connemara Coast Hotel....it was a really good day.
Something that's high up on my list of things that makes a day enjoyable is the frame of mind that the newlyweds are in. Anna and James are wonderfully positive people and this makes them a joy to be around. I photographed Anna's sister Leona's wedding a couple of years ago so familiarity is also a good thing....and it's an honour to be asked back to another family wedding.
Anna's preparations took place in her home not too far from Roveagh Church just outside Kilcolgan. Collette Costello Bridal Hair and Anne Marie Fahy Make Up were responsible for looking after Anna and her bridesmaids Christina, Kate & Leona. Love working with the two girls...they always ensure things go to time on wedding morning which helps us all...and I love the chats with them too!!
After Anna's preps, Mike Flannery (looking after video) and I made the short journey to Roveagh Church where me meet up with James and his groomsmen, the two Christophers and Conor!
They arrived in stlye to Roveagh Church....a Lomborghini none the less....such a class car for a class day!
Kayla McDonagh was responsible for the lovely sounds coming from the church and she was accompanied by the brilliant Mike Cooley.
After the beautiful ceremony, we used the comforts of the church for the family and some bridal portraits before making a quick stop to visit Anna's grandmother.
Before heading to the hotel, we made a stop at Beanra Woods for a photo shoot. The day was breezy with the odd shower so the shelter of the woods offered us the some protection from same. The woods were serene and offered a lovely backdrop. The trees were lush and green, with soft light filtered through. Anna and James and their bridal party were in good form and the banter went back and forth for the shoot which lends itself to good images! Before making our way into the wedding reception, Anna & James made a quick stop at the back of the hotel to grab some images at the Gazebo which is a majestic setting. Lara the brilliant wedding co-ordinator met us here and we ran off some shots which were bizarre! Some images showed beautiful sunshine whilst others showed ominious stormy clouds with a beautiful rainbow...and zero photoshop used for these images, they're authentic!
With all of the official photos completed, Anna & James were able to enjoy the company of family and friends before their meal. Kayla McDonagh was once again on hand for the music entertainment that night and her band "The Experts" had the place hopping all night! Thanks Anna & James for being such cool people to be with on your big day.....I really enjoyed it!!
