Wedding Connemara Coast Hotel

Laura and Simon brave the elements for an outdoor photo on a wild and windy wedding evening at the Connemera Coast Hotel.
Laura & Simon's wedding day in the Connemara Coast Hotel

Laura and Simon's wedding in the Connemara Coast Hotel is a very memorable one for me!! Such overwhelmingly positivity from the bridal party all day.....so enjoyable being around that and feeding off it! Future brides could do a lot worse than reach out to Laura and ask her what she fed her bridesmaids Olivia, Maria & Eibhlin on wedding morning...they were wired (in the best way possible). When I arrived in the front door, I could hear a chorus of "blanket on the ground" being belted out in the back conservatory and could be heard all around the house!! Orla Duffy and Natalie O'Brien (Hair and Make Up) were roaring laughing when I arrived and told me I'd have my hands full that day! The weather outside was truly terrible, but the vibes inside were the polar opposite of what I'd expected...thanks for the amazing morning guys! Thanks to my colleague Deirdre Langan for capturing Simon and his groomsmen Ronan, Joey, Michael & Kevin's morning preparations in the Connemara Coast Hotel....from what I can gather they were equally as easy to work with on wedding morning as the girls!
The ceremony took place in the Augustinian Church in Middle St Galway with the amiable Fr Peter Gannon looking after things....such a gentleman and I was lucky to play some gigs with him in a previous life. Great working at a ceremony where you don't feel you're walking on egg shells with someone as nice and approachable as him.
After the ceremony, the bridal party were walking up to "Murphy's bar" in Middle Street for a pint.....something I didn't think was possible with the heavy rain....but we got a couple of minutes where things abated and we made our way. When we arrived on Shop St, we heard the Jamaican Busker doing his thing and he called the bridal party over for a brief "rap"...cool to witness!Onto Murphy's for a pint (hydration is important on wedding day) and then onto the shelter of the Quad in NUIG for a photo shoot. The college offers shelter from both the wind and rain on wedding days and gives you the opportunity to get outdoor photos whilst staying dry....a gift of a location on a day like today.
After the shoot, we headed to the Connemara Coast Hotel for the reception. This hotel is known for its stunning views of the sea and mountains. Even though it was wet outside, the warmth inside made the day feel special.
There was a good session taking place in the bar when we arrived and how lucky was Laura to have Natalie O'Brien (bridal hair specialist) present as a guest and she was able to do a couple of touch ups that were needed....just look at the high winds when Laura was arriving at the hotel.
Great food and great speeches were ahead of us and Kayla McDonagh and the Experts had the dance floor hopping which put a brilliant finish to an awesome day.
Thank so much Laura & Simon for trusting me with your wedding photography...cherished being in your company and hoping we'll cross paths soon again....until then, mind yourselves.
