weddings in the Lodge at Ashford Castle

Deirdre and Cory had a beautiful wedding at the Lodge at Ashford Castle......a place where I live quite close to and indeed love working in. Both Cory & Deirdre's preparations took place in the elegant Lodge....this allowed me to capture some images of both of them on wedding morning. Deirdre was relaxed and in good spirits and her sister Orla (also her bridesmaid) and mums Ita & Maryln were also present and getting hair and make up done by Sandra Mullen & Aoife Creaby. After spending some time with the ladies, I headed over to Cory who was accompanied by his brother Evan and dad Dave on wedding morning. Both Cory and Dave were also in good spirits....both after having had a workout prior to my arrival! Evan from what i can remember went for a jog into Cong followed by a swim in the Corrib....Cory also doing something similar.....two fit men that squeeze what they can from life!! The ceremony took place in Deirdre's local church, St Brendan's in Corrandulla. After the ceremony, we headed straight back to Cong for a photoshoot with the bridal party. If there was one single place where I had to pick that had the best of everything for a wedding day photoshoot, it would be Cong......such wonderful nature on display with some ancient architecture too....a dream location...add in the fact that the weather was nothing short of glorious and this photographer was a happy man!!I enjoyed my time in Cong with Deirdre, Cory, Evan & Orla....all made easier by being in plenty of time and in good spirits!! After our shoot, the newlweds made their way to Ashford Castle for their last brief photoshoot before returning to the Lodge for their wedding reception.
The reception was a delightful affair. Guests enjoyed the wonderful lawns of the hotel grounds playing games and enjoying the wonderful early summer weather. They soaked up the beauty of this majestic Landscape. ...all leading to a wonderful atmosphere at the Lodge.
I love it when we arrive at a reception with plenty of time for the couple to absorb and enjoy the company of family and friends.... Cudos to Deirdre and Cory for being on top of their wedding timeline. After the meal, the newlweds were able to enjoy some "us" time on the lawns of the lodge, and I enjoyed taking portraits of both them as well as their familes and guests while they were stretching their legs! I think the "first dance" photos perfectly capture the energy and happiness that was on display all wedding day....loads of energy from Cory and Deirdre.....and all of us feeding off same! Thanks so much guys for trusting me with your wedding day photography....loved being around ye on your big day!!!
